Palate Expansion & Braces
First started with early orthodontics. Before braces he needed palatal expansion, an appliance that widens the upper jaw so that the bottom and upper teeth will fit together better, which generally takes 3-6 months. Once the expansion was complete, he was placed in braces for about two years.
Tooth Extraction & Braces
First, bicuspids were removed, one on each side, to create necessary room for the rest of her teeth. Then braces were in place, for about two years. The result? This beautiful new smile!
Braces for Bite Re-Alignment & Reduced Crowding
To reduce a deep bite and moderate crowding, arch wires were used to open up this patient's bite, and elastics were used to move teeth into their corrected positions. No teeth needed to be extracted, and because of her excellent compliance, her smile was better ahead of schedule!
Bite Alignment & Gummy Smile Reduction
This patient started out with deep bite and a "gummy" smile. No teeth were taken out, but we used special arched wires, for approximately 1 year, to open up her bite, then re-aligned her teeth for approximately another year. At the end of treatment, a laser was used to contour her gums, revealing the natural shape of her teeth.
